Pace of Play
Play ready golf - Hit when ready and safe to do so. Plan your shot and select your club when approaching the ball.
Take a couple of clubs - Before leaving your cart, choose a couple of clubs to take to your ball - don't walk back and forth.
Walk briskly to your ball - then relax and focus over the ball.
One practice swing - this should be sufficient and will help your group keep up with the group ahead.
Keep up to the group ahead - Problems? - stand aside and wave the following group play through.
Spot your ball - If you lose your ball in flight or on the roll, spot an object (tree, bunker etc) and walk towards that object to speed up recovery.
Partner watch - Always have playing partners watch your shots and help spot your ball - especially helpful if the shot goes astray! Or… if the ball is being hit
towards the sun and is difficult to see!
Lost Ball? - Limit the search to 3 or 4 minutes - then get over it!! The impatient looks from the approaching group will not be worth the cost of a ball!
