Expect the unexpected - road construction, an accident, or a
traffic jam, and plan to arrive for your golf game at least 30-45 minutes before your tee time.
If you are late for your tee time, and the course is busy, you will not be popular with the pro shop or your fellow players, and may
miss out on playing.
It is a wonderful feeling not to be rushed and out of breath on the 1st tee box. With time to spare you can pay for your green fees, change shoes, practice, do some warm-up stretches, and get your equipment
organized, without being rushed.
Dress appropriately - for the weather and adhere to the dress code.
Read the local rules on the score card. It is helpful to know the little idiosyncrasies on the course…such as from the Banff Golf Course score card in Banff,
Alberta, if the ball hits an elk, the ball can be replayed without penalty!
Count your clubs - a maximum of 14 are allowed in your bag…and don't forget to count them after your round to be sure you've not left a club out on the
course.
Mark your ball so it is easily identifiable. It is a 2 stroke penalty to hit another player's ball.
